Staff are hired from a variety of countries including, Australia, Canada, China, Holland, India, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. Up until this year, the Head of School was Sally Holloway. She was the founding head and was part of the KIS community as an administrator and parent for 20 years. We look forward to welcoming Paul Johnson as our new head of school. Paul is joining us from the American Embassy School in New Delhi, where he was Deputy Director and High School Principal.
Our Administrative team
Our administrative departments; Student Events and Activities, Finance and Facilities, Marketing and Admissions, ICT and Academic work collaboratively to ensure the school runs effectively and safely for the benefit of the school community. Each team has a team manager/director that sits on the Senior Leadership team. The team meet regularly to ensure the smooth running of the school.
Our Support Staff
A whole team of dedicated people work behind the scenes to ensure our campus and classrooms are clean and safe including the guards, the maids, the kitchen staff, the maintenance team, technicians, a gardener and a nurse to name a few.
The KIS student body is made up of students from the host country Thailand and from overseas. Approximately 55 nationalities are represented in the KIS community.
The KIS Parent association, KISPA, is open to all parents. The group provides opportunities, events and activities to unite staff and parents. Many events are fun such as the “Parent Teacher Party”, an opportunity to socialize outside of the school campus.
KIS staff are also active in the international community with teachers trained and participating as IB examiners, workshop leaders, MYP moderators, PYP trainers, team leaders and CIS team visitors to name a few. Involvement in the future development and quality assurance of the programmes is important to the continued development of the school.
